Stop in Style! Painting a Local Bus Stop for Very Deserving School Kids

Do we love offering painting and carpentry services to our clients? Absolutely. It never gets old, and we’ve built some awesome relationships over the decades.

But you know what else never gets old? Helping out with local needs and community initiatives, putting our skills to work in special ways for equally special people. Our team loves it too, rolling up their sleeves and doing the legwork to make sure a need is met.

Today, we’d like to spotlight one of our most recent community painting projects. And we’d also like to offer a shout-out to James on our team who orchestrated the details and took this project across the finish line.

The backstory

A while back we were contacted by a local teacher who asked if we could help refresh a bus stop for the kids in her school. It was in disrepair, looked a little rough, and she had a vision of it being restored and transformed. And even more than that, she wanted a vibrant paint color that could offer the perfect backdrop for future custom artwork done by the students.

Here’s what it looked like:

We love it when a plan comes together

This is the part where James really comes in. He reviewed the project needs and goals, then organized a Saturday event with members of our painting and carpentry team. They spent the day cleaning, prepping, repairing, and painting the bus stop, transforming it with an eye-catching blue that would be the perfect canvas for the kids’ creativity.

Here are a few shots of James and the team in action.

Our star teacher AND the kids love how it turned out, and we can’t wait to see what happens from here. We’ll update this post when we get more pics!

We’re also humbled and thrilled to see the outpouring of love on social media. Here are a few of our favorite comments:

“Your generosity locally is why I chose you for the work at my house!”

“It looks great! I drive by it everyday and totally noticed it today and thought how nice it looked!”

“Great job guys!! Kids are going to be so happy when they see that”

“Congratulation to all of them who make this happen. It's looks great and I love that blue”

“Great job and it looks fantastic. What great community partners.”

That’s what it’s all about, right? Paint is a powerful thing, but the care it symbolizes is where the real power lies. Special thanks again to our talented team, to James, and to all those awesome teachers out there who take the time to reach out and get important things done. You’re the best!
